Short Packing List for Russia

Simple Packing List for Russia

q       The “Big Three”: Passport (with Visa), money, plane ticket

q       Wet Wipes—Lever 2000 or Dove (may substitute for shower on some days!)

q       Antibacterial hand gel (please be discreet)

q       Toilet paper (one “just in case” roll)

q       Toilettries, plus: Cold medicine, echinacea, melatonin, Tylenol PM, prescription drugs with the prescriptions

q       Earplugs and eye patch (for flights and trains)

q       Slippers (flip-flops double as slippers and are handy in nasty showers)

q       Small mini can of Lysol for stinky/unsanitary bathrooms (i.e. on train)

q       good walking shoes

q       Clif bars as meal substitutes: $1.50/ea. feels expensive at Kroger – and the steal of the century after your seventh day of meatwad!

q       A few of your favorite candy bars, just in case

q       New dollar bills (the newer the better, banks usually try to help with this)

q       Postcards of TX, copies of pics of self (conservative background) for gifts

q       A small photo album or collection of pictures of you and your family/friends

q       Only what you can carry: smaller IS better, less IS more; sturdy wheels are golden

q       A great learners/flexible attitude

Don’t bring:

q       US cell phones – they are on a different system

q       Valuables – try to bring only what you can leave (and do so with the needy)

q       Much of anything: think about Paul and Jesus

q       A comparing spirit: “It’s not like this in America!” See the Russian people with eyes of compassion – as God sees them.
